Has anyone posting here shot a Stoeger Cougar 40? If so what's your experience as to its' performance?

Wanted to put a footnote on this thread. A month or so ago I picked up an FNP 9mm Compact for $300 cash. Nice deal on a good little gun.

Today on my local gun forum in GA, I was offered a nearly new Walther PPS in .40 with aftermarket Meprolight night sights as an even trade. I know this young man and I really tried to talk him out of the PPS in .40 but he was convinced it was THE gun for him.

Nope, I passed on it as little poly .40s are just not fun to shoot...

The gun stores have had the S&W 40. Readly avaible, same with the ammo. I went into the gun store to purchase my son his first hand gun and that was all they had. So I think a lot of people got the 40. for that reason.
Me! My first hand gun was the Magnum Research Desert Eagle 50 cal. Why? Because I had wanted a hand gun and new someone who had fired it 3 times and wanted to get rid of it for a good price. So when we go out shooting I love to shoot the 40. cal. But I bring the 50. just to let everyone shoot it at least once. It has a hell of a kick and recoils not only back but to the left and if you are not use to it. Yes! You guest it a shell right in the forehead.
Now I have a S&W 45, the A.E. 50 and the S&W 40.
