The reverse taper of the rear sight isn't new. One of my Border Patrol mentors had such a design on the rear of his S&W M19. He said it stopped errors of elevation by drawing one's eye to the tip of the front sight and the restriction. That was in 1979 or so.
And the paint job looks vaguely like the old MMC fixed sights.
Good luck to them. I won't be spending the money for the sights, myself.
