Has anyone know a fair price range for a model 19 S&W
I know little of old S&W, I do know (think) they started making in the 30’s
I like old fire arms and a buddy is looking to off this one in SS the other blue.
I want to be fair to both of us, any info, good or bad would be appreciated.

Oh he calls it a snub nose, but what I can tell maybe a 3” barrel

I am trying to get him to get me pic’s I should have taken some while I was at is home, 3 hr ride but

I bought a blued police return 4" barrel in 2005. I paid $299 for it. I've seen a few model 19-5s, usually asking around $500. Of course, you may not find those prices....

I paid $175.00 for my 19-4 years ago. I would not sell it for $1000.00.

If it's blue or nickle it is a Model 19. If it's stainless it is a model 66.
In either case you are looking at between $275 to high $600s depending on the model revision (-2,-3,-4 etc.) and condition.

If it's a snubnose the barrel should be 2 1/2" from the forcing cone.

What model is it? 19-1, 4, 5? Pinned and recessed? A picture would help a bunch.
Wambli is right, could be a cheap shooter or a collector depending on the condition and what comes with it.
