Nasty utubers

Since i am new to firearms i dont have alot of sources for information. I stopped asking questions about safety issues becuase people freak out and really attack u. I watched a video of someone short stroking a sr9c to demonstrate trigger pull with a loaded magazine in the weapon. He than turned the loaded pistiol and pointed it a the center of his chest so the camera could see the striker style trigger engageing. It about scared me too death. Should i just not watch these? They are not a very good source, but i dont know of another video style place to view. And why qre people so damn meen? Is this the cool thing to do? Blast on rockies?

Hope everyone is doing well

Ask away and beware of what you watch on YouTube. Much of what is on there is filmed by yahoos... not the kind of people you would want standing next to you on the firing range.

Here are some of my favorite channels on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/user/hickok45?blend=1&ob=4

Check out these videos as well...

Scott listed probably the three best Youtube channels out there regarding shooting. Two of my favorite pet peeves are keep a straight finger until you're ready to shoot, and the ultimate saftey is between your ears.

The only comment I would make is that I wouldn't put too much stock in what you see on Youtube. There are a lot of idiots out there who like to show off their dumb stunts with the rest of the world. Sure, there are lots of good videos available on Youtube made by people who know what they are talking about, but overall videos are posted for entertainment and not educational purposes. It is not hard to get a video posted on Youtube.

Youtube goes both ways,I have seen so many videos where someone showing a gun upclose says"i'm performing a safety check to make sure it's unloaded",but it's not a genuine check, you can tell it's just to apease an audience of gun haters or something.I think it all comes down to if you grew up with guns or not,if you learned from a young age I think you're safer instinctivly.

I agree that it goes both ways, youtube is open for anyone to use so your always gonna have these "self imposed expert" idiots make their own "firearms proficency" videos thinking that they are "real" experts. Its obnoxious to say the least.the scary thing is,is that theres other idiots just like them out there that will watch these videos and start using the same idiotic shooting behavior

That dont apply for every youtube channel. I have and still do get great knowledge from there. Try armorychannel, humans4targets2, hickok45, nuthinfancy, just to name few who respect the game and can be very informative. If its a vid and no safety precautions are exercised, i would not bother.

Ironically I'm a subscriber to each of the channels you mentioned ;).
