Default My first pistol

Bought my first ever handgun today, a CZ 122 Sport in .22lr. I bought it from a collector my friend knows. I was actually looking for a CZ Kadet and my friend told me that he was offered one some time ago by his collector friend. Well, went to check out the pistol today and it turned out to be a 122 Sport. Not exactly what I wanted, but I liked it enough to buy it The gun probably has 20rds or less shot through it and is in very good condition. The single action trigger also feels great. Can't wait to shoot it, might be able to do that on Saturday or Sunday. I'll be checking out another CZ pistol on Saturday too, a SP-01 Shadow in 9mm.

It's a major PITA to get handgun permits nowadays in Finland (2 year process...), but it finally paid off. Took some hasty pictures today when I got home, not the best quality but here she is:

CZ is a great company. You will probably buy the shadow, it is a high quality pistol. Do you think Germany or Finland has stricter laws. I am betting Germany.

That is awesome! Really unusual-looking action on it.

I LOVE the grip angles on my CZ-75b.

I've shot a few Shadows and one Tactical Sports, they're awesome. I'll see how the gun looks as it is used (verry little) also. If it's ok I'll buy it, if not, I'll wait for another gun shop to get the Shadows back in stock.

I'm not too familiar with the German gun laws, but from what I know I'd say Germany too.

Have shot couple of CZ-75 and I love 'em. That's why I started looking at the SP-01 Shadow.

I'm curious AleksiR, how hard is it to get 22lr ammo in Europe right now? Really nice looking pistol by the way.

That's a good looking gun. I hope it performs well for you.

Honestly, I know very little about this model. But for a new pistol owner, I'd generally advise (1) buy a good 22lr target pistol and (2) follow up that purchase with a metal framed, full size 9mm like the CZ 75b. That's not the be-all end-all for everyone, but I think it's a pretty good recipe for success. So if your gun performs well, I think you're well on your way.

CZ makes excellent firearms. I'm a big fan of all things related to the model 75. Premium quality, rugged durability, modest price. Probably my own favorite platform...ever.
