For me the .380 is an extremely underrated round.

The .22 Long Rifle, Stinger HP..............Why ? Because I have seen too many things killed with .22 LR...

Problem w/the .22 Mag, though much better than a .22 LR and nothing at all, is most power is wasted in a pistol. Don't get me wrong, I think it is probably one of the top "if I could have only one" survival cartridges, keep a repeating rifle version in my vehicle and backpack with a 4" 11 ounce pistol (w/Hornady Critical Defense) and sometimes a 16 ounce 16" rifle with FMJ's, but for a CCW I think its features and benefits don't match up well to the requirements...

There is a reason the .38 Super is over looked. Early 1911 Colts chambered in .38 Super had over sized chambers. These guns got a reputation for poor accuracy and FTF.
The Bomar Barrel company made a replacement barrel for the .38 Super but they were expensive back in the day. Most all 1911 .38 Supers were shipped to Mexico.

Newer .22mag short barrel pistol ammo cures that.

Has anyone tried the new loads ? The 22 Mag pistol w 6.5" had the same velocity of a .22 LR rifle.

In my derringers, it's a huge fireball which could blind an opponent. Has anyone chronographed the new loads to see if shorter barrels can achieve velocity gains or just a fire show?

22 short is unrespected but at 15 ft rapid fire 7 shots in a half dollar group should do enough damage in my opinion and its just fun and the neighbors Don't call the cops when shooting in the backyard

.22 Mag from a 6" pistol has always been at least as fast as a .22 LR from a rifle. Nothing new. The new short barrel .22 Mag ammo is interesting -- I load the 45 grain Hornady in my 4" as I said -- but it doesn't "cure" anything. The .22 Mag is still not an ideal self-defense round tho I appreciate the little revolvers.

Good selection -- I like the .38 Super. Prefer it to 9mm and .45 actually. But the early ones, yes, had problems. The modern gun availability never saw it make a comeback.

.50 BMG because when your carrying a .50 BMG pistol on your hip people are probably walking to the other side of the street so you never have to use it. Underrated because no one thinks of carrying it.

I would agree with the .22 being underrated, it's often overlooked and it does damage and is available in small guns that are easier to conceal than some larger calibers.
