So does the tokarev pistol with better results and its military grade ammo is readily available.

Very true the 7.62X25 Toc is very effective. The guns and ammo is cheap. A .22 Magnum Auto can get very close to the 5.7 for a lot less money.

I think it is used by some entry teams because the round can penetrate through body armor pretty good.

LOL! Nah, i haven't got the time, inclination, or eyesight for such theatrics. I did enjoy their early shows, but it lost its appeal to me. There have been some seriously silly moments since then. I still just can't understand how the entire production team let them do the "pirate pistol" episode without patching the ball during loading.

The "five seven" handgun sells for over $1000! It has about the same ballistics as a 22 magnum. I personally think it's way over priced for what it is and what it does.

Wait what? Are you sure? The 5.7 shoots about 2400 fps and tears right through body armor. Without looking it may be possible the .22 mag moves at the same speed but I'm sure that's as far as the ballistics comparison can go.

Id say with a muzzle velocity of 2400 fps it has the same drawback as the 9 mm round....tends to fly right through its target while transfering very little energy equally low stopping power. Ill keep my .45 spitting 1911.

And whats all this talk about punching through body armor?....are we 11? And how many of us need that capability?

How many 11 years do you know of that have body armor? That is the reason the round was created and that spec-tac groups use it.

I'll keep my 40. I like the stopping power plus the penetrating power of the 40 cal round.

My ten year old has body armor, got it in a yard sale, he loves to wear it, also has a authentic navy seal sniper ghilly suit. Kevlar helmet, night vision goggles, all kinds of stuff he "plays" with. He eats, breathes, dreams navy seals.
