magazine storage

Whats the best way to store magazines fully loaded, half loaded, or empty? I keep two full, one in the gun and one beside it. But i have a couple of hi capacity mags that i just use at the range that i keep empty. Is this right or should I change my ways?

stop by the intro thread and introduce yourself.

if they are loaded leave em loaded unless they need cleaning. if they arent dont load em just to store them. loaded unloaded doesnt make any real diff. actual use is what detoriates the springs.

Hello from the local better state!

I store my loaded, not a problem.

Keeping a spring compressed does not make it weaker. My 1985 Ford pickup has the same springs in the suspension since it left the factory, and they are not harmed by the weight of the truck. Springs wear out from flexing. Yes, you can keep your mags loaded with no harm.

C3, I didn't realize you were so high-flouting <sp> driving such a late model like that. Actually, my newer truck is an 85 too.
