I own a Glock 23 and love it overall. It is compact enough for conceal carry. It is large enough for my large hands. and it shoots great. I would reccomend it for a "mid" size gun. On the larger size: my first handgun was a beretta 96 vertec in .40. It shoots better than Glock (my opinion only) and is still easily concealable for me ( Im 6'2" 230lbs). It is a good shooting gun to handle the alleged "pop/recoil" of a .40

Each weapons platform handles and performs different in different calibers. Say a Glock 22 or my Taurus pt840 which to me both handle perfect but then there's the baby desert eagle polymer in .40 which handles like a Mack truck to me. Im just not a fan

I've never shot a polymer baby desert eagle but my large frame, all steel baby desert eagle ll/Jericho 941 in 40sw has almost no recoil and is the most precise pistol I've shot. I would put it up against pistols costing twice its price.

I have full size S&W M&P .40, then I bought a 357 barrel for it, that's all you have to do is swap the barrel and you are good to go, the .40 mags that come with it are designed for .357 as well, so a simple barrel change and you got another caliber. You can go to 9mm with it too, but gotta get 9mm mags. Love the versatility of it and how it shoots, just my 2 cents. My CCW carry is also a .40, Walther PPS, and I love it as well. Like others have said, you just need to find what fits you and is comfortable to you, I personally am a .40 fan, but it is also my duty caliber as well.

Can .40 haters not read?

Horniday critical defense,
9mm MV-1135 ME-329
.40s&w MV-1045 ME-400
.45acp MV-900 ME-333

The .40 is the BEST of both worlds, not the worst. Only auto I'd rather carry is a 10mm or 357 sig but ammo is more expensive....

I'm a 40sw lover. I totally agree, best of both worlds.

Well i think of it like this, if its a gun and it goes bang its cool and i will like it. The way i see it as far as caliber goes, the gun is a tool just like a hammer you pick what you feel is the best type and size for the job you want it for. Just my 2 cents. :-)
