My M&P 45 and 9mm tend to pop the brass high and to the right. Clean the pistol well and I expect you will have to chase after your brass instead of it hitting you. I expect your M&P is new and you shot it with out a take down and a good cleaning. Get the heavy grease out of the pistol and replace with lite oil then you will have to scamper after your brass (if you reload). Enjoy the pistol

about 5 got stuck, out of 200 rounds
and it not all ways staying open after the clip is done.

You know I'd actually recommend something compact, or even subcompact. To many pepole end up purchasing a nice gun only to never carry it. I made this mistake originally when I made my first purchase. Ever gun owner should own multiple guns. What I like to call the gun wardrobe. Start with a smaller gun get your CCW and work your way up. You want something that can hidden on your person EXTREMELY well without even think about it being there.

Such as an EMP from Springfield Armory or I'd even recommend an Ruger LCP not the best calibur but it's something that you would wear on your person constantly. Again it's far better to have something your going to wear constantly.

Does this happen with both mags or is it just one of them that fails to load? Is it the first, last or random round that fails to load?
How often did the slide close after the mag was empty?

It might be as simple as breaking it in but if you still have the problem after 500 rounds it's a problem that needs fixing.

The easy fix might be try different ammo. My M&P's seem to eat anything I feed them but I don't know what your feeding yours.

You can polish the feed ramp on the barrel but if it's a new pistol it would be better to contact S&W and explain the problem, they are fairly responsive in review and repair.

As for the slide closing after the the last round is fired from the mag, if the problem continues contact S&W and explain the problem.

Keep us in the loop

Is this ejection flight pattern with the 9mm only? I have never had any of the 3000+ cases through my .40 go anywhere near my head.
