I was able to shoot the blackhawk and the Redhawk at Bears and loved it.

Ruger makes the Blackhawk in .30 carbine,
but the term Blackhawk is rugers single action line, they have many different calibers in the Blackhawk line. Ruger also has a line of large caliber double action revolvers, the Redhawk

I don't understand your point Bill.

Sorry, RSG. I didn't mean to imply you can't buy yourself a gun. It looked like he was implying he was offering to buy it for you.

Because we are women we can take care of ourselves.

Oh, wait, that's another thread.

I would love to have an Alaskan as I like the big recoil and large caliber. But I have a .357 magnum that also shoots .38 and I'm complaining about the cost of target fodder already. So even though I'd like an Alaskan, I am really looking to add a .22. What can I say. My wants are much bigger than my wallet.

The Redhawk was probably a .44magnum although early ones were .357 mag if I remember correctly.

Blackhawks can be .38, .357 and .45 Colt. There's also a Blackhawk with interchangeable cylinders in 9mm and .357 mag. Then, there's my favorite, the Blackhawk in .30 carbine.
