Lightweight .45
Interested in a lightweight .45 that I can go jogging with. My full size 1911 didn't exactly make the cut. Any recommendations?

lightest 45acp i know of with a decent capacity is the colt new agent.
i think if i was a jogger i would step down to a lc9 or just carry a bersa thunder. not a huge ruger fan but weight is a factor when running.

I too have been in the market for a comp/subcomp 45 of late.
I would recommend looking into the Kahr CW45 (under $400) and PM45 (a few hundred more). I handled a CW45 and came away really impressed. Borderline "sub"compact, but still just big enough for the average dude to keep all three grip fingers occupied. Great value for $370 or so. I might yet end up with one.
The PM45 is a bit smaller (1rd less capacity) and lighter, but can be nearly double the price. The PM is only practical if your need to be superlight trumps your need to keep $ in your wallet.
I'm currently holding out for the XDs45, which should be released at any moment. Google it if you're interested. Not sure if it would be right for you, but I'm a little bit of an XD honk. (((It will be mine)))

I would carry a micro 380/9mm when running.
But I do run, and I do own a Kel-Tec PF9 (that I carry often)...and I don't carry when running.
Not a worthwhile endeavor for me. But for those who want to carry while running, I'd really lean toward a Kahr/KelTec/Ruger 380acp or 9mm. 45acp is heavy, dammit!

Me too. The price ($370 for the one I saw), plus the ability to get all three grip fingers around that bugger was awfully tempting at a recent gun show. I ended up buying a Ruger SR1911 from the same dealer instead.
I really like the CW45 (haven't shot it), but I'm holding out for the SA XDs45. I guess because I want to spend $200 more on something I haven't held...go figure .

The aluminum officers models run about 25 oz empty. The Glock G36 weighs 27 oz with 6+1 of 230 grn 45 ACP. I have one but I have been having some trouble with my hand and the recoil is starting to get to me. I am still able to hold all my shots inside a 5" black center at 7 yards but it is a lot easier and faster with a 9mm of the same weight. A 25 oz empty weight 45 would be easier to shoot at least for me. My groups start to climb once I get below 25 oz. This is a fairly recent development. I guess age is catching up with me.

I have 3 different .45s. I don't run. But I am a bicyclist. I ride a road bike...sometimes like 50 miles through the mountains. No way I am carrying a 45 while doing that. A five shot J-frame drops nicely in a front pocket of my shorts. Sometimes I forget it is there. I never forget that a 45 is there.

I don't run.
But I do live in South Florida which provides me with similar concealment requirements while wearing a swim suit, t-shirt and flip-flops.
My needs are satisfied with a Remora holster and a LCR at 2:00 o'clock.
I'm comfortable with that.
