J framed revolvers

I think polymer framed guns may be the lightest. As far as lightweight and easy to use, Glocks may be the winner.

What do you want to use it for?

Light weight usually means more recoil which affects accuracy to some degree......especially on secondary shots. Personally, I like a medium weight gun for all around carry & use.

A .38 revolver from a reputable gun maker: S&W, Taurus, Ruger, Colt. Yes, some will say that's old school but they have been around for over 100 years in that caliber and with today's modern ammo, they can't be beat. Some of the gun makers now have 7 and 8 shot revolvers to compliment their lines of the old six shooter and they come in a wide assortment of barrel sizes.

For What? Most guns made today are accurate, far more accurate than the shooter can hold.

Good? Most made today are "good" to some extent.

Generally, revolvers are easier to use, especially if much shooting is done at one time, as reloading those pesky magazines gets awfully old after a few hundred rounds. And, they deposit the empty cases right into your hand, instead of making you crawl around searching the grass.

And, a too light gun will take a battering, as well as the shooter, in heavy use.

My pick has always been toward the single action revolver, such as a Ruger Bearcat .22 or the larger Blackhawks.

Shop around.
