Let's all contact Speer
I am a HUGE Gold Dot fan (pun intended). My EDC gun is a G20C. Speer does not make a 10mm Gold Dot load. Please contact them and request they start doinig so.

A 180 gr GDHP @ 1250-1300 would be the $hit!

Problem solved...
The all-copper bullet construction conquers hard barriers like auto glass and steel while still maintaining its integrity. This is an optimum load for Law Enforcement.
- Deep penetration on soft tissue 12-17 inches.
- Reduced recoil due to lighter weight projectile.
- Lead free projectile.
- Environmentally friendly!
*CERTIFIED: CALIFORNIA LEAD FREE*
Caliber: 10mm Auto
Bullet Wt.: 155gr DPX
Velocity: 1200fps
Energy: 496ftlbs
Test Barrel Length: 4.6 Inches
20 rounds per box.

Speer Gold Dot is the approved ammo for my agency. The Silvertip is the fall back if Speer does not make a GD in your caliber or your gun simply will not run on GD. I absolutely roll my own, but not for duty use.

When did they stop making them? I loaded up the last of my 180's last week. Not a big fan of the gold dots though. Speer pisses me off for the most part. You can't buy 60% of what is in their manual because they want you to buy their loaded ammo.(federal)

They make the bullets, just not the loaded ammo in 10mm. I have loaded several hundred rounds of 180 GD's in the 10mm. They are not for duty use though.

The big problem with finding Speer components, especially bullets is the demand for the loaded ammo. They load all they can make leaving little for the reloaders.

Does one really "need" a 10mm rd? I fully support LEO and the use of 9mm but 10mm ... that's just overkill and should only be reserved for our Military

You should have posted a drink warning on that one. I loved that post.
Now to get the coffee off my keyboard.

huh? I've never heard of any military units shooting 10mm there may be some small elite units using a 10mm, but I thought most of them were using .45ACP.
but the masses of the US military use the M9 in 9mm, although I've been seeing some more Glocks out there in some US Army units.
