In that case, definitely work with what you have left to increase strength
And I'd look into a prosthetics...as they've come a long way in the last ten years...
if you can get into one of the new studies where they're doing robotics (Vanderbuilt/etc), they do all the work for free,
and you just have to be a test-patient...not a bad deal if you are near a big city or willing to drive a bit.
My wife has a messed-up shoulder from Military Life...4 surgeries so far, and probably one more within the year...
she can't lift her arm above her head, and at the moment, can't hold more than 5 pounds without using her other hand as support.
So we've worked on making her working arm even stronger to take up the slack for the other.
Because the surgery only gives back limited ability...as it gets worse each time...
along with after age 40, its all pretty much downhill as far as natural ability to regenerate tissues/cartilage/etc...
I'm hoping that the new Harness that one company is developing to enhance muscle strength will eventually be able to help her,
along with thousands of folks who have low muscle strength due to diseases.
Through my own life and motorcycle crashes I've developed a pretty definitive attitude towards life's little mishaps...
Never give up, Never surrender, Never Stop until you reach your Goals!!
Otherwise I'd be a crutch commando myself...you oughta see my scars
I shouldn't be walking, much less running & jumping!
