Default Just want 1

Hey guys, i been thinking, while i am a Glock lover(not a fanboy) i been thinking about getting a 1911. If i could, i would grab a Colt because them damn things are pretty as hell!! Since right now im not interested in spending over 100 c-notes for a gun; i been looking at the Rock Island Armory 1911. I hear their not that expensive but are great guns, are their any 1911's with de-cocker lever? i would love to have that feature. I dont know, just at the thinking stage. Once you cock the hammer, how do you de-cock it? do you lower it real slow?

1911s are designed to be carried cocked with the safety on. carrying them cocked with the safety off is slightly safer than carrying a glock about the same as carrying a XD.

i do not recomended carrying ang handgun cocked with a safety off which is a big reason i dont carry a glock there is no real safety. at least the xd have a grip safety.

it is not recommended to carry a 1911 hammer down on a loaded chamber.

Not to worry, you can get one for less than $10,000.
Five to eight C-notes should do nicely.
Rock Island should be fine.
A decocker on a 1911? Blasphemy!

Just to warn ya once you buy one, you want more . If you do some research on rock island, you will see they have hit or miss QC so keep that in mind but I have met alot of guys who were lucky enough to get good ones and they love them. Good luck and have fun!!

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

I like my Springfield 1911A1, reasonably priced, NIB.

There are many others, also.

S&W makes a 1911-ey .45 with a de-cocker, but it's generally

not a part of the 1911 style to have one.

I guess I have to ask, how much do you want to spend? You can get a Colt for under $1,000.
