Default interstate handgun questions (nj to ny)

Hello everyone,

I currently find myself with the issue of interstate gun laws. I currently have 3 gun permits in NJ but have to leave for law school very soon. My school is in Long Island, NY where they do not honor out of state gun permits. I am looking for a loophole or less time consuming route than the full NY gun permit process (6months) to legally keep my gun in my apartment as well as bring it to the range with me. If anyone has any information on this subject please let me know

Best loophole I can offer a law student is to immediately transfer to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville VA. I do not think you will find what you seek in Long Island. Besides, most of us here never passed the bar. I know SOME of the folks here have never passed A bar without stopping.

Sorry, bro, there are 6 places in the US where the gun laws really suck. You are dealing with 2 of the 6.

What NJ gun permits? You have a FOID and may have had pistol purchase permits, they were surrendered when you bought the handguns. Aside from a CCW, there are no other NJ permits. Advice I offer is what I offered another student with a similar question, leave the guns at home.
