DefaultImpractical Gun

So, say you get back $600 that you'd loaned to Uncle Sam for a year...

You have all the guns that you *need* for plinking, range and personal protection...

You want something fun, maybe a little impractical...but not just a wall hanger with no readily available ammo or too finicky to shoot on at least a monthly basis...

You decision can be based on looks...

What would you choose and why?

I like Security Sixes and I have bought many for just that reason.

For $600 you might be able to get two,

On old flint lock blunderbuss.

Just let the intruder look down that barrel, and the he would have an involuntary body function.

Field or Service grade Garand from the CMP would both be within your price range.

How about a WWII relic, like a Mauser, or a PPSh?

Pick up a .45-70 Marlin Guide Gun or 1895 SS. Ammunition is readily available and it's a flat out hoot to shoot. It will also put a serious hurt on anything it hits.

Sounds like a good time to buy a 44 mag. Fun to shoot, not all that practical for most. Did I mention fun to shoot?
