First step...stop by the intro thread and say hello...when you get a chance.

Secondly...What state are you in? Every state has different laws...

Lots of folks here would like to help you out but more info is needed...

Most states have no firearms registry. Check with your local LE agency to see if it is even necessary.

Are you are refering to the Federal Transfer Forms. If so you would need to go to a firearms dealer and fill out new Transfer Forms. They will often charge for this service. In most states there is no law regarding this. The private sale to a person from another state can cause some problems. I would check this with a Firearms dealer in your state.

As long as you have the firearm legally its probably better that it isnt in your name.

There is no such registry in Florida. In fact Florida state law prohibits it. Are you acquiring the firearm or giving/selling it to someone else ... assuming you are talking about a transfer of ownership of a firearm from one person to another.

Some ppl will do it for 25 bucks. Some 50. U have to go to a shop or a FFL holder and fill out the paperwork just like you would be buying a new gun. But the guy has to be there that sold u the gun. I believe (not sure bout that part). then u have to do the 3 day or 24 hour wait and go pick it up.
