He hands me a box of 100 rounds and the price was 82 bucks. I couldn't believe it. He was cool about it though. He apologized thoroughly, and said he was trying to get a cheaper supplier, but there just wasn't any to be had.

Fortunately, he had purchased 100000 rounds of 9mm before the panic, and was still selling it at the pre-panic prices. I got 500 rounds for about 70 bucks.

Looks like I'll be shooting 9mm for a while.

No kidding, I could use some 9mm right now, it's hard to find around here. I'm also waiting on my components to come in so I can reload but they haven't made it yet.

Still hard to get any ammo in western Illinois. Stores blame the suppliers. Limits of six boxes placed at WW. Blazer seams to be the only kind that ever is around and only in 9MM 40 you cannot find. 223 is gone 306 out found some 30 30 a few weeks back. WTF.....

He blames the supplier huh? I blame his 200% markup and being a greedy prick.

Hell, I was trying to unload some UMC 158 gr +P here in Kansas City, and noone would touch it at $22/50.

As for the shortage and noone being able to find ammo? You should have had an ample supply before the SHTF with brother Obama and the craze he initiated.

Im holdin onto around 20k of commercially loaded ammo. And enough components for 10k more.(allegedly)

Still waiting since March 1st for primers, powder, and bullets. This is insane! I have plenty put away, but I don't want to shoot it until I know I can reload some more.

How long will this last?

I fear with the growing distrust of current politicians the ammo shortage will be around for awhile...at least until the fall 2010 election.

From my perspective, the fear is the politicians are trying to take away or severely limit our Second Amendent rights. Combine this distrust with current world events leaves people feeling insecure and even a little fearful.

IMO, the ammo demand appears to be here for awhile...
