Given the price point I would buy a CZ-82 or Tokarev.
I would have to agree. I've always heard good things about the carbines but never fired one. I have fired a 9mm pistol. I think one of the 9x18 milsurp pistols is a better choice. Ammo is a different story. All things considered, a $150 handgun that shoots ok isn't a bad choice if you only have $150. However, saving another $75 to $100 and picking up a Star or used Ruger, possibly a used Bersa 9 or a 9X18 and a couple hundred rounds of ammo may be a better choice. I don't think that the Hi Point is a good enough shooter to be a good range gun, Not reliable enough to be a first choice home defense gun, and they're too bulky to be a CCW. Okay, they may be, but not good enough in any category to warrant a purchace. IMO
