I can understand how you feel. Back when I was in school they didn't diagnose things like dyslexia. I do believe I had a form of and my son was diagnosed with it also. English class was the worst. I have had post that I was very passionate about only to be followed by someone grading my writing skills. Then if that's not bad enough damn auto correct throws in more mistakes than I do. Trip I appreciate that you apologized for the retarded thing. I too have a grandson with autism and don't appreciate those remarks. I did graduate high school, but I have no college degree. I do have the type of job that usually a degree is required and expected, they waived that requirement at a previous company when they promoted me. So since that I have hired in at the same position at two different companies. I control millions of dollars in expenditures a year along with 1.7 million in inventories. (6 million at the other company). So even though I may lack in spelling and grammar doesn't mean I'm stupid.

In my own weak defense (I won't defend the retarded comment), I try to inject humor into reminding people to throw in the occasional period (it's manly to have periods...).

I took it as an insult myself when the excuse was given, "I'm from the south". I just went way overboard and showed my ass. I never intend any insult to handicap people, especially children. It was an azzhole comment. I, fortunately, do not have to deal with the challenges of handicap or handicapped family. I'm far removed from those challenges, and, I'm grateful for it. I very well likely am too weak to face that challenge.
