Default Herters ammo

I recently purchased a couple boxes of Herters Select Grade 9mm 115gr aluminum case ammo from cabelas. I didnt notice this til i got home and looked at them but the bullets are encased in a nylon jacket. Has anyone used these before? What does the nylon do to the barrel? Why do they put the nylon on the bullet anyway?

Are they the TNJ with aluminum cases? they're supposed to help with no copper to foul up the barrel I heard.
