help with a p83 i just bought

Hi, I need some expertise and hope someone can answer the following for me. I just picked up my random p83 polish semi auto pistol. long story short i need a mag for it cause the guy who sold it to me pulled it when he gave it to the transfer guy and never gave it to me. got to love the chaos of a gun show. I didnt catch it and so i am looking for a mag hence my problem. the barrel on the gun says 9mm but all im finding online for a p83 is 9x18 for this make and model. i even found a gun auction with this pistol that says the caliber is 9x18 but the barrel like mine says 9mm. im confused? does this gun shoot both rounds? if not where do i find a 9mm mag or is the 9mm on the barrel for this pistol? thanks :)

There are a number of 9mm's. 9x17 is .380, 9x18 is also called 9mm Makarov, 9x19 is also 9mm Luger. There's also 9mm Largo and there may be another that I can't think of right now.

The P83 should be 9x18 Mak.

i took this out last week with 2 boxes of 9x18 ammo for the first time, deffently shoots diffrent then my rugar p95, smaller frame which takes some getting used too but overall its a solid shooter and fun to shoot, this could end up being my service weapon over my rugar.

To the folks that made it 9x18 WAS 9mm :o
