Looks like an FEG. Kind of a Makarov copy. Most likely .380 (9mm kurz, 9 X 17).

Value? $200 -250

Thanks. She did mention FEG. Didn't know what that was. Decent gun? Has 300+ rounds of surplus nine with it as well

Hungarian. PA63 or SMK. Some were .380. Some were 9x18 Makarov in chambering. Kind of a Walther PPK clone. Pretty sure they had aluminum frames . My father in law had one of the .380 SMK versions that had the small steel frame. Decent shooter. Think he paid around $185 for it back in the late 1990s.

Make sure you know Exactly which 9MM( prob 9x18) it is still widely available(Markov ammo) in LGSs and Distributors.

Yes, generally FEG makes decent guns. Most FEG's are clones of something, and at the right price are good to have around. Just don't pay a Walther price for a FEG clone.

PA63? Some gun magazine just picked it as their TOP choice for EDC.

If it is the FEG PA63, then chances it is chambered for the 9X18 Mak
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FEG_PA-63

The 9mm in European could mean:
9mm Kurz, .380 ACP, 9X17
9X18
9mm Parabellum, 9X19, 9mm

Be sure which caliber it is and if ammo is available in your area.

This is a fairly good list of 9mm ammo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_mm_caliber
