My mom wasn't able to pull the trigger of my Smith 642. Just because it is easier because of no slide, the manual of arms still has some difficulty. I've heard the LCR has the smoothest trigger of all the J-frames.

Nothing wrong with a .22 loaded with Velocitors. It wouldn't scare the democrat out of her, though.

The Jewish people in Pre WWII Germany did not want firearms. They would later get 4 families to invest in one expensive Black Market handgun.
People who are fooled today may not be tricked tomorrow.

Well I'm going through the same process with my mother (63) and sister (35). Neither one has ever had any interest in shooting in there lives but both got their CCW last week. I was thinking about the Ruger LCR for them. I'm going to let them try mine out and see how it goes.

It seems Big O is driving more people towards guns than away from them! Works for me.

One of our problems is the lack of proper training that these new shooter require.

Contact your local range and see if they have a course.

We obviously have a young crowd here. 63 ain't that old!

Assuming no physical disability, with proper technique and training she should be able to operate the slide on most semi-autos.

She'll be happier to make her own choice if you can give her some reasonable options to try out.

Well my mom is 55 and she has only found a few handguns that are not .22's that she can comfortably pull the slide back.

Maybe she'd be better advised to use the technique of pushing the gun hand against the slide hand, rather than trying to pull the slide back.

As I said, there are techniques that can be trained to alleviate weaknesses.
