Of course it did. The weapon in that link is foolproof for bears.

Back on task - I MIGHT carry a handgun if in bear country and I was NOT expecting contact. If I was HUNTING bear, my .45-70 Guide Gun at a minimum. Handguns in bear country are for when your situational awareness has FAILED and you are unable to carry something more substantial.

I might consider a high capacity 10mm with 180 - 200 gr bullets (and several spare mags). Revolver? VERY minimum .41 Mag.

Default Lions, Tigers and bears........................

We can't know the out come, be it rifle, hand gun, or pepper spray. Most bears hit with the pepper spray will back off. His nose is the most important part of his survival. The same reason a shark covers his eyes when he goes in for the kill..................The lucky ones survive bear attacks. And they all have gruesome reminders. Your a fool if you think you can take on a 1200 # grissly in thick brush...........Or a female with cubs..............

I really don't think bears should have hand-guns.

The first, and probably only time, I agree with Chain fire.

Gotta love Mossbergs! I wonder, this versus an AK pistol, which would be better for bear defense?

I don`t know if I could reload my BFR fast enough, hopefully five .45-70`s would be enough..............
