honestly, its like your asking us to guess what kind of car you drove there based on it being blue.

HKs are fantastic guns, BUT they do not "START" at $1000.

what models were you looking at?

I bought 2 USP Compacts, one 9mm and one .45, for around $750 each. Great guns, my favorites over SIGs and all else--but that's my opinion. I REALLY like the USP (and HK45) hammer drop safety and slide release--the mag release takes a little getting used to, but I now have no problem with it. They are also two of my most accurate and reliable pistols.

I have a P2000 and a P2000SK both with the LEM trigger option and they ran about $850 out the door each. Well worth the money I paid for them.

One of my favorites, it's the gun I grab when things go bump in the night.
It's a .45 ACP Elite, and if you're having a good day at the range you can wallow out a single hole group @ 25yds.

Thanks, Force. It's obviously one of my favorites. The only other .45 Auto I have that shoots as accurately and reliably is my Kimber Gold Match.
Something else that I haven't seen anyone point out is the fact that this trigger config. allows the gun to be used DA/SA or "Cocked and Locked" like a 1911 style.
