Yes, I believe I understand. However my work schedule and family have prevented my even shooting this one. Picked it up on Wednesday, work and busy this weekend, and my nearby range is closed on Mondays. I can see the addictive power of this historic platform, though. Now that I have a "genuine" Colt 1911, I'm curious about the Ruger. Clearly, a 1911 has to be made in USA, where it was invented.
Oh, and the Glock is sold. The buyer will take possession the end of this month.

Guns? What guns? Oh, I haven't seen those since I left my garage door open one night by mistake.

I wouldn't mind having a SW Model 29 with about an 8" barrel. When it comes to long guns I would like to have an original full-auto Thompson.

I just want a 45/120 nothing super fancy! I'd even be happy with a 45/70 guide gun. Also a mp5 wouldn't hurt my feelings any.

I am lucky enough to have pretty much any gun I wanted---still, you could probably get me to buy a Walther P5C if one was available and could be shipped to Kalifornia.

Currently, the guns I am actively seeking are
S&W Model 27, 3.5" barrel (pinned barrel, of course), and
either a Colt Model P in .45 Colt, blue, but not sure about barrel length, or
a U. S. Firearms replica Model P as above.
Other guns on the 'if I can find them and afford' list are - in no particular order,
C96 (Broomhandle) Mauser in at least shooting condition,
Thompson-Center Contender with a selection of handgun calibers as a testing bed,
any of the guns carried by James Bond in the Fleming series (Walther PPK [not /s] in .32 ACP are demanding serious prices!) just as a collection theme,
S&W Model 58 (pinned barrel).
Just as collector guns, a Savage .32 ACP pistol - probably have to have several to cover the major variants. Several other .32 ACP pistols from the early part of the last century are also interesting as well.
Oh well. I can still get around to gun shows and gawp, if nothing else.
