Just about the only statement in this entire thread that makes sense...

In the military of today, you may have a rifle, a weapon, or a piece. A gun is a shotgun, a machine gun, or a cannon. At one time, it did mean a smoothbore.

In the civilian world, there are grease guns, glue guns, caulking guns, tattoo guns, soda guns (used by bartenders) staple guns, piercing guns- and others. If you have been a rancher or a vet, you know what a balling gun is- used to get a dose of medicine down the throat of an uncooperative animal.

I rather us gun then "piece". A piece of what? Crap, cake, pizza, gum, etc., etc. At least gun people know what your talking about.

Or we could use the term gat, roscoe, chopper, heater, nine, etc....

It still means that you have something that "made all men equal".

ZG told me one and I laughed. She told me the term "jammy" for a weapon/gun.

Only in Indiana would one have a "piece" of pizza. Try a "slice." I'll ignore "stick" of gum, heathen.

And what's sad about a phaser on your shelf? I want one. The Saturday bath whether I need it or not, happy hour, the "stun" setting...

Not all "pieces" of gum are sticks.. Hubba Bubba, Bubbalicious, Big League Chew are some that are pieces.
