So, great day at the gun store today. Its the first time I've ever got to see one in person as well as hold it...a 1915 stamped Luger. This thing was cherry. On the bottom of the mag was a wooden piece (forgot what it was used for) also stamped 1915 for which I have been told is rare. The luger was in good shape considering its age. It was nice to be able to hold a piece of history. With that being said, one of the most uncomfortable guns I have ever had my hands on. Still pretty cool though, don't see those every day

What were they asking for it?

Yea I thought so too

For that money I'd rather customize the heck out of something current.

I have yet to have the opportunity to fondle a Luger :o. I bet it's like holding a Colt Single Action Army or Cap and Ball revolver.

I've seen some go for much much more, and some for much less on some of these online auction sites. I think the max I've seen was like 6k, and the least to be about 1600.

Wow, you've never held a Colt Singl Action Army??? Nothing like it I assure you. While 2800 bucks appears to be a lot, imagine what that old Luger could tell you. Yep, a piece of history there.
