Good Cleaning Kit?
I went on Amazon.com and I couldn't find a pistol cleaning kit with consistently good reviews. Do you guys recommend any in particular or should I just shop around and make up my own kit from scratch? This will be used to clean and oil a SIG Sauer P226 9mm.

Assemble your own if it is a single purpose one; the cheap pistol kits are sub standard for the most part. And the lubes are usually on the crap-pay side.
Buy a rod section or cable (Otis), patches, cleaner and lube you are good to go. Add a bore brush (non metallic). Tear up your old REO Speedwagon T shirt for rags and you have it all.

get yourself some hoppes, iosso bore cleaner, a good brush and a brass rod. I prefer "Change yes we can" shirts for my cleaning and bore rags.

If it's going to be for one -and only one- pistol, just piece together your own kit. 9mm cleaning parts are easy to find, and your Sig will require nothing beyond the basics.
Sigs do soak up oil, so keep those rails slippery. Almost any gun oil will suffice, but I've gone to "Slip 2000" lube products for all my firearms.

Here's my recommendation:
- boresnake (makes cleaning the bore 10x faster, 10x easier, 10x cleaner)
- bottle of hoppes
- brush
- gun oil (take your pick)
- patches
Other things you might want: paper towel, silicone rag, disposable rubber gloves, a cleaning mat.

Thanks for all the good info. Is Hoppes oil any good? My SIG Sauer came with Mil-Comm TW25B lubrication. Should I try to find some more mil-comm or is Hoppes or Winchester fine?

Personally I like Valvoline full synthetic, but that's just me 
But really, synthetic oil = less wear on engines; Would it be safe to assume synthetic oil = less wear on guns?
