The Sigma is not in the same class as the Hi Point. The Sigma is better.

Anyway, there's more to the 9mms that wasn't told. They have different trigger systems. Single action only, double action only and SA/DA. I'd get the double action only (for SD.) Safe to carry with a round in the chamber (like the revolvers) and some don't have external safeties but the trigger safety itself.
I have two I keep for SD and they're both DAO with no external safeties, my Sigma 9mm and my Sig P250 40sw.
