Winchester white box or anything else that doesn't cost much. I prefer brass cases.

Depends on the target you are shooting.

I suggest to everyone that they use the same gr round for practice they would use for self defense.

Different rounds shoot differently on paper.

I carry 230 gr JHP for daily use but practice with 230 gr FMJ. They shoot the same but the savings on FMJ is huge.

If you reload 6.2 grains of Unique behind a 230-grain round nose bullet makes a most excellent target load. It is very reliable and consistent and fast enough to suffice as a SD load.

True enough for me. I use PMC 230 gr FMJ for target practice.
And also use Speers JHP & PMC FMJ for SD carry together.
Whoa! Look out!
