Well I can't tell you anything about Sig or Springfield because I've never shot them. I do carry a GLOCK 35 .40 cal. I love shooting it and very easy to clean/maintain. My friend owns a G22 gen 4 and he has told me it is a great firearm. The MAIN thing is to hopefully try each one out and see which one is most COMFORTABLE to YOU. We can only give OPINIONS to which one to choose, but the final decision is yours. Everybody has their own favorite handgun/manufacturer that they like, so you will get alot of different opinions even ones you did not list.

3 great gun makers, you are going to get a MULTITUDE of responses here. Just do your homework, go to your local gun shop and handle all 3 to decide.

My vote is Glock 23 which gives you the best of both worlds....able to be concealed....accurate as hell..... and holds 13+1 or more depending on the mag

I agree with StainlessSteel .. Do your homework. It doesn’t matter what other people’s perceptions are of a firearm. Ultimately, it'll be you that will be handling it, and training with it. All you mentioned are all good gun makers. You decide ... It'll make you happier in the end. :)

wheeew, and coming from a guy with an impressive laundry list of guns in his signature.....all of which you mentioned OP. Have fun with it....I think you will have a sudden AH-HA moment in your LGS after handling them.

I went to buy my gun and I was set on getting a glock 23 but one I held the xd 40 I changed my mind. It was more comfortable that the glock. And happy with it and I've put 1000 rounds threw it with no problems

You might look at the M&P 40

Pack a lunch & go to a range that rents. Spend some quality range time with your options.
Glock & XD vs. Sig is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison (Strikers vs. Hammers.)
I would add S&W M&P Series (striker) and CZ (hammer) to your shopping list as well. Don't forger Ruger also, tons of value to be had.
At the end of it all, it will all come down to what suits you the best. Lots of choices, take your time, get it right.

Of the three, I believe the Sig (if we're talking alloy 226/229) is the nicest gun. Of course that'll be reflected in the price. But I personally shoot the XDm platform considerably better than Sigs. Glock would finish 3rd for me.

I have all three and would have absolute confidence in each. The Sig will have the best trigger (again, if an alloy DA/SA) and finish, followed by the XDm. The Glock's trigger is a real turn off for me...but that's me being picky. I've never had a problem with Glock accuracy or function. I'm just not a big fan of their ergonomics or trigger. But mine has never failed to match my own abilities.

I wouldn't point you away from any of these guns. My budget, my shooting style, and the XDm wins out. I also think the S&W M&P warrants some investigation.
