Glock magazine breaks

My dad has a glock 17, he's had it for many years. I think it's a first generation glock. Did you know they come with plastic magazines??

Today he howed one of his magazines that was broken in two more than half way down, weird, he says he was pulling it out of the pouch to put them up like always and it came apart. He's probably had it loaded for years though.

I tried once again to tell him how crappy they are and showed him my Kimber. He likes the Kimber, ALOT, but does not want the .45acp round because of his experience with them in the service, go figure.

Ever show him your XD?

I have to ask, what was his bad experience that turned him off to 45 so much that he likes a 9mm better?

He says they are too slow and he couldn't hit anything with them because of the recoil.

He mostly likes the .44magnum though, go figure.

Doesn't like the recoil of a 45 but shoots a 44 Mag....to each his own. Does he ever carry a 44?

No, he carries the g17 and a keltec p11. He wants to get rid of them and get a .40 for carry. I told him to try the xd40sc, kahr pm40, or something of that nature. I think he likes the walther .40 and it would probably fit his smaller hands better.

If it is an original magazine, send it back to Glock and they will replace it, most likely at no charge. The have replaced several that I have send back for other officers. If you need the address, let me know.

Could you pm me the address? I'll pass this along to my dad. He did say he'll never have plastic magazines again. I said, "Dad, the gun is made of the same plastic."

:D

I suspect it was from years of being loaded fully and thrown around.

Sure thing. They metal line the mags now.
