Can't wait to get my hands on one!

I have a G36 and an XD45 compact. I dont have large hands and the 36 fits me better than the G30. The G36 is 6+1 and weighs 27 oz loaded while the XD is 10+1 and weighs 36 oz loaded. The G30 weighs about 31 oz loaded. The grip on the XD pistols is thinner than the Glocks except the 36. I shoot the XD better than the Glock. Probably due to the weight. Trigger on the XD feels a little better also. I bought the G36 for a carry gun and it carries very well. It is de horned from the factory and mine has night sights. The G30 grip was a little too fat for me and it is a little wider than the 36 and does not conceal quite as well.

I carried a G30 for a year before I switched back to a G19 but 4th gen. I also own an XDm full size to replace an older G21.
With a wide range of reloads, the G30 was much less picky, specifically with lighter powered reloads.
The XD has a slimmer grip but I dislike the grip safety. I can't the gun in my hand when I pull the slide back and my grip does not engage the safety which does not allow the slide to move.
I prefer the G30 but they are both very well made guns.
