glock 27 swap advise
hello
i have a question and hope this is the right place to put it as i am new to the site i have a glock 27 thats has had 100 rounds fired since new. now i have a person wanting to trade me there thompson center with 223 rifle barrel 44 pistol barrel 3200 elite bushnell scope and wood stock and forarms. i have never owned a contender and wanted to get opinions on if i should do this trade or not ? I am interested in the trade as I hunt and that’s what I was looking for in the contender. I have a few other handguns like colt 1911’s , Springfield's and others but I basically wanted to know if this is a fair value trade ? he has two other contenders and was looking for a ccw is the reason he says he wants to trade. thanks again for any opinions |
IMHO keep the G27. Check out Pawn shops and other used gun places, you should be able to find a contender for less than a G27. The Contender is not as hot a commodity as the Glock. But in the end do what makes you happy.... Single shots can be as addictive as snub revolvers.

It's simple:
If YOU are happy with the swap then it's a good deal... |
looks like a split decision then ha ha
|
If there's a buy/sell/trade board in your area, check it out to see what both of those sell for around you. If that doesn't work, try Gunbroker.
If Glocks sell for more, then perhaps your friend will sweeten the deal with a little cash or something else of value. But ultimately, if you're happy, you're happy. |
How about stopping by our "Introductions" area and tell us about yourself?

Personally I'd do the trade if you need a rifle and then save up for another Glock. A new Glock 27 can be had for around $600.00 including tax and background check. If the T/C is in decent shape it probably worth $500 to $550 and the extra barrel has to be worth another $150 used.
If your looking for a decent rifle, you can't beat T/C |
If these are in similar condition, you'll do just fine in the trade from a value perspective.
So it really just boils down to which you want more. |
try Midwest Gun Trader for your firearms needs

I would do the trade. I bought a used G27 for $280. Traded it for an SR9.
That had nothing to do with nothing. |
