I am debating between a Glock 26 and a Ruger LC9 as a carry weapon. Anyone have any thoughts or pros and cons on both of these guns. Would appreciate it.

From a ballistic standpoint, the 10mm eats everyone's (auto calibers) cookies AND drinks their milk. It approaches 41 mag performance w 15 round capacity. It's a Law Enforcement nightmare.

However, the 9mm is a better choice for training, especially for beginners for all the reasons stated above. (Cost, recoil, ease of use etc.)

I just got a g20 10mm Ammo is a bit expensive but Underwoodammo.com has excellent full house ammo with reg hollow points or rem golden saber <which I just picked up a 100rds of 180gr and looks like itll have good expansion http://www.underwoodammo.com/10mmauto180graingoldensaberbrassjacketedhollowpoin tboxof50.aspx .

And I got the efk shock absorbing guide rod / spring and it greatly reduces muzzle flip , frame stress . Is a great gun . You can see the guide rod is actually 2 piece and functions just like a shock on your vehicle

The LC9 is a great gun for CC but it is not a range gun. Of the few times that i have taken mine to the range, i have never finished a 50 round box. I found it very snapy being so light and the triger pull is not pleasant at all. I carry mine at my work, were clothing does not let me conceal anything bigger. It is however fairly precise but im prety sure i will be getting a biger,heavier 9mm this month. If you like rugger i would recomend to you the SR 9. It comes in a full size and a compact version. To wrap it up, if i were in your situation, knowing what i know now, i woulg go with the G26!

Thanks for your info and advice. I think I have pretty much decided on the Glock 26. I am waiting to attend a Front Sight 4 Day Defensive Handgun Course before I make my final decision and purchase the gun.

Have you considered a Glock 19 ? Better balanced gun than the G26 IMHO

For carry the g26 for all around the g19 or get the g17 or 34 not the 17L if you think you will get into match shooting. For a trail or light hunting woods defence pistol get the g20.

Do you need the Tacoma pick up or the F-450 4 wheel drive-dually? Night and day difference.
