are you serious... Round these parts you will get one comes before 1912.

Seriously a little more info would be helpful...what do you plan to use it for: CCW, duty carry, target shooting. Are you looking for all metal or polymer...price range, etc. An open question like yours will get 100s of answers and open the floor for the 1911 vs all others debate...

Me personally I just picked up an XDm in .45ACP and have a Kimber on backorder at Buds. I have put about 100 rnds through the Springer so far and really like what I have...whether it's any better or worse than a straight XD 45 or a 45 compact is another open debate, in my case the XDm was available and the compact wasn't.

Welcome to the forum by the way. If you want to stop over at the intro thread and post a hello to everyone it may help to get some more traffic through your thread.

What he said.

Some choices.....

1) Nighthawk
2) Wilson Combat
3) Ed Brown
4) Les Baer
5) Kimber
6) Colt
7) Springfield
8) Sig Sauer (custom 45's)
9) H&K (USP series)
10) XD45
11) S&W M&P

What ever fits your budget, but more importantly, it fits and feels good in your hand.

Many ranges rent various .45 guns for one to get a acquainted with in order to find which is a comfortable fit for you before you make your decision.

How much you want to spend?

You want plastic, steel, or......?

There's plenty of options out there. I have an XDm45. Great high capacity 45acp. But if I were to steer someone in another direction I would suggest either a 1911 or a Sig P220.

Please stop by the "Introductions" area.

Your request has too many variables. Asking "Which is better, Ford or Chevy?", is a more direct question than asking "Which full sized handgun?"

Go to a range and try some. The Firing line in Manchester NH rents just about anything you could want to try out. They will be happy to show you what each handgun offers. Manchester Firing Line Range, LLC.
There are a number of folks from Boston, Fitchburg, and Worchester that go there.

my pick is the new colt series 70. under 1000$ it works flawless and has the least ammount of MIM parts and is closest to JMB's original design.

Buy a 1911 and you'll be happy.

When you get a chance, please head over to the Introduction Forum and introduce yourself to the folks.
