Fnx-9

Looking at purchasing the handgun tomorrow. I have jumped between this and the M&P 9mm but seem to like the FN better. Any thoughts, or experiences w either gun?

They are different. Do you want a single action / double action with a hammer in the FNX-9 or a double action only in the M&P? There are pros and cons to both.

I prefer a SA/DA and the FNX-45, I decided it was a good replacement to the 1911 after my wife bought an FNX-9 for herself. Her reasoning had nothing to do with SA/DA or anything like that, she liked the grip and the sights, but after putting it through its paces, I decided that the FNX-9 was a pretty good choice.

Think I like the DA/SA more. Honestly I only own single action handguns. Both 1911's. Quality is important to me as well. I don't want something that's gonna have firing issues right outta the box per say!

I have one. It's a fine pistol. FN makes quality products.

I had an fnx-9. It was a good gun. I liked the ergonomics a lot.

The FNX is simply a better pistol than the M&P:)

I prefer the FN-S. I'll take 'striker' fire over hammer.

Well the verdict is out. After talking this morning and finding out I no longer needed a permit to purchase in my area, I couldn't resist running out right away. I ended up going w the M&P pro core series .40. The FN didnt quite feel right in my hands. I tried all 4 back straps that came w it. Plus I really like the option of mounting optics on the M&P!

Range report w pics soon to follow.

You should always go with what fits best. But I still believe the FN is a better built pistol. The matter of fit was not brought up in the OP. If both fit well then the FN still is the better pistol.
