Flare gun for shooting birds?! A bearbanger flare?!

Would a bearbanger flare be effective for killing birds and other small animals just by the massive shock of the explosion.

Thx,

john

Why would you want to shoot birds with a flare gun ?

1. Hard to aim
2. Flares travel in arcs.
3. Not a humane way to hunt.
4. Can cause a fire
5. Use a shotgun
6. Find a hobby
7. Why?

I was thinking more of like in a survival situation not for fun

Numbers 1 and 2 then. You might get lucky. I think the bird will dodge a flare higher in the air.

Just use a pellet gun.

If all you had was the flare, it is best to learn basic trap and alternative fishing skills ahead of time. Stick with earthbound animals.

I think you'd get seriously laughed at by the birds. Aren't flares also relatively slow?

Just when i think i've heard every question that needs a WTF?

Bear bangers are only available for the 15mm tru flare pen launchers. They are available for 12 gauge shotgun, but one in a flare gun prolly isn't a good idea. I highly doubt you could hit/get close to a bird with a bear banger.
Not many people have an interest in flare guns, but it's actually a rather neat off-shoot of gun culture.
