When I am offered a 3 box limit on .40 S&W instead of a back-order ticket on 9mm, I will take the three boxes. The 9mm is finally starting to show up on the shelves again, but in my area it is nowhere near as plentiful as the .40 S&W.

As far as other problems around here, as of Saturday there is no .357 magnum available at any price. You can get .38 Special, but the loadings are limited. .22 lr is available in limited supply. .22 WMR is not.

YES! I was "Shocked as white Crap" to find .22WMR at a local place! I bought 200 Rds of the Winchester Defender, and 100 of the critical Defense....now I CAN shoot my newer 10/22 Mag.!!!! It also seems that for all the "Bricks" of .22LR available on-line, no one has .22Mag. at a normal price.

In no particular order:

1851 Navy Colt, just too cool to pass up.

1911 colt or clone in .45 acp for the house

Browning Buck Mark .22 for basic target practice.

.38/357 revolver also for the house/target practice. (they don't jam)

.380 or small 9mm for ccw, I like the ruger lcp but don't have one yet.

The last is the only one I don't own a version of, as I haven't gotten my ccp yet.

In this area 357 mag ammo is plentiful. The local ACE hardware has Remington 125 gr JSP for $25. 22 wmr is spotty. When I see my favorite loads under $15 I buy 10.

Cool thread, while I don't currently own a handgun I will be picking one up soon. So here is my list based on what I'd like to have and have shot.

1. A self defense /ccw - I'll say either a 9mm or 40s&w in your favorite size and flavor. Personally it's a Beretta px4 full size in 40s&w(the gun I'll be getting soon)

2. 357/ 38 - I'd say it's probably one of the best all around revolver rounds you can get and everyone needs a revolver.

3. 22lr - cheap and easy to shoot, great for the kids or newbies.

4. 45Acp 1911 - any reliable flavor will do, mostly because it's a great, solid platform. This is why I didn't include 45acp in #1.

5. Big bad ass gun - dessert eagle, colt anaconda, etc. Why? It's a scary gun and fun to shoot, mostly it's fun. Also a great conversation piece.

Why do we have to settle for just 5? I don't like this game.

My gotta get list:

.22 for target fun and learning
.380 pocket pistol for backup
9mm for carry
.45 Commander for carry
.45 Gov't for home defense/range
.357 for revolver duties. 38s for range.
12 awg shotgun
Rifle/carbine for defense or hunting

Oooh i wanna play! My top 5 choices would be

image-3251413762.jpg

Glock 19 9mm

image-3424706249.jpg

The reason i like it is because they are so popular and and have been around for a long time and its the gun i grew up with. 9mm is always going to be available the glock 19 is small enough to conceal but big enough to shoot with aftermarket parts and pieces are plentiful they also have the ability to accept factory 30 round mags and even aftermarket 100 round mags they are lightweight and they work

image-1334400405.jpg

My second choice would be a sig p226 in 40s&w these guns are also reliable and the coastguard and f.b.i like these guns i would have chosen a glock 23 because you can convert It to a 9mm all you need is a 9mm barrel and magazines but he said choose the 5 you would like and i wouldnt want 3 glocks lol

image-437026114.jpg

My third choice would be a glock 21 45 acp my reason is because im more familiar with glock and this will hold 13 rounds of 45acp so it it kicks a 1911s ass jk i would like a ruger sr1911 also if he let us choose more than 5.

image-2185469893.jpg

4th choice would be a s&w model 617 in 22lr ammo is cheap can be bought in bulk and isnt as finicky as a semi auto pistol
