I am also of the opinion this might be too much information to share in a public forum.

Ha ha! That's way too funny! Not everyone wants anyone they don't personally know to have too much information about their personal effects. The problem with questions like those are the potential unwanted ears that tend to find their way into places they don't really belong. I'm sure your intentions were good but with patience you'll find people will open up and give what information they feel comfortable providing.

• What drove you to finally make the jump into purchasing your first gun, and when did you make your purchase?I like to think that I was the one doin' the driving, thank you

• How heavy was the recent political/media influence in your decision to buy a pistol?
I was completely brainwashed - I'm one of those low information folk

• Is the primary reason for your handgun purchase for self defense? well it ain't for whistlin' Dixie!

• Do you have a current plan for SAFE storage of your pistol? I don't know, ask my kids Pediatrician?

• Do you plan to obtain your carry permit?
who's asking?

• Finally....which make and model and caliber did you go with and why?
I thought ahead, and got something I knew would be legal next year - single shot .22

I do not think that any remotely important personal information was asked so I see no problem with answering the questions.

Thanks, Comrade.

Seriously I do not work for the FBI or CIA folks...lol this was an innocent getting to know the 1st time gun buyer's perspective in this climate. I thought it was interesting to gain perspective from the fence sitters or those who made up their minds in response to recent incidents. I SUPPORT EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU...SO THANKS!

• What drove you to finally make the jump into purchasing your first gun, and when did you make your purchase?

A: I had always wanted a handgun and finished a job that I hated. Used part of the proceeds to purchase a p220 four years ago.

• How heavy was the recent political/media influence in your decision to buy a pistol?

A: No influence at all.

• Is the primary reason for your handgun purchase for self defense?

A: Nope for the fun of shooting shtuff!

• Do you have a current plan for SAFE storage of your pistol?

A: Yes, I have a firearms safe that holds my now four handguns, shotgun, and two rifles.

• Do you plan to obtain your carry permit?

A: I live in the bay area of CA and my county does not give out carry permits, so no unfortunately.

• Finally....which make and model and caliber did you go with and why?

A: My first was a Sig p220. Wanted a 45 and loved the feel of the pistol in my hand. Wanted a 1911 but liked the ease in which the p220 came disassembled. Since I have bought a CZ 75 single action and a ruger new vaquero in 45 colt. All three of the weapons are a blast to shoot.
