First Handgun

Hey guys,

Just revived my permit and ID card. I'm looking to purchase my first hand gun. Will use this for recreational and home defence. I'm thinking of a 9mm to keep ammo cost to a minimum when at the range. I do have to say as far as hands go, mine are small. Can anyone offer some first time buyer advise? Where to begin?
Leaning toward Sig, S&W, and Glock, totaly open to suggestions.

Thanks for your help.

Ps. have a friend who is looking to sell a Glock 19 any thoughts?

Always kind of wonder (mabe the wrong word) to hear that someone has a CCL & never owned a weapon before

He's probably a citizen of IL or NJ and got his FOID card.

Best advice is to buy a .22lr rimfire pistol and get some trigger time. It's a gun you will keep forever and is the best way to step into handgun ownership.

Ask him why he's selling it.

Did he shoot any reloads or lead rounds while he owned it?

Yup- forget about the "RED" states that still have ----well----different laws.

I'd go with a 22LR target pistol, and a 22LR carbine of choice for

a first rifle. My .22s are the backbone of my collection.

Great to shoot, cheap ammo, and fun for the whole family.

I'm a NJ resident, we are required to first apply for our Firearms ID card an permit to purchase a handgun before we can do anything.

Asking around $550. W/ xtra mags. He is looking for more stopping power, and wants to sell.
