If I want to buy one, it would have to have it's semi-auto capability disabled permantly by a Smith, which is like "killing" it to me.

In Denmark, you can own 12 pistols/revolvers at any given time. The legal calibers, which include .22, 9mm, .30, .32, .40S&W, .357 Magnum, .44 Special, .45 Colt, .45ACP, but not for example .44 Magnum and .50, are divided into groups, and you can own max two from each group.
Sounds complicated. I hate complicated gun laws. But at least you can own as many as 12. I've heard of places where there's a one or two handgun limit.

The Glock is actually a 35, so the 9mm XDM has lower recoil though I think the Glock has a slightly better reset. The XDM has the nightsight on the front and the Glock has the 3-dot...so that may be a feature you like.

If I ever do a trigger job on a gun, it will be on the Glock. I think the gun will be a real sweet shooting weapon with the ghost. The XDM has slightly more creep in it. The S&W is my favorite out-of-box trigger for me and I shoot it the best of all three. For me, the Glock and XDM are so similar in features and benefits that I don't really like one over the other...the S&W is my favorite out of the three just because I shoot it better.

Most 9mm pistols are semi automatic. Most 9mm "target" pistols are for run and gun games. For one handed bullseye shooting another caliber might suit you better.

The ghost ring looks like a neat idea, but on a handgun it is too far from the shooters eye to be truly 'ghost". It will obscure the target. I scored the same or worse. But it was fun to try.
