This is actually the best advice you can get.

The second permit I will spend on some fun historical stuff like a Browning HP or Luger maybee. Something that's quite different from the target shooting 9mm I'm about to invest in.

I can tell you this much: Don't move to Denmark if you like firearms! There are a lot of restrictions on calibers and weapon types. No .44 Magnum or .50 caliber handguns, no semi- or full-auto rifles, no submachine guns and no Barrets for example. Guns are only allowed for target shooting and hunting, not self defense. Air guns with caliber higher than .177 requires a police permit. Illegal firearms possession will put you behind bars for at least a year, no matter what firearm we are talking about. And worst of all: The police can enter a gun owners home without a varrant!

But there are possibilities outside Denmark: My also shooting girlfriend and I are planning a nice vacation in the US, where we will shoot some serious hardware bigtime :-)
I feel bad for you. Denmark firearms law sounds awful.

You said you can only have two 9mms at a time. Can you have two 9mms and two of another, legal, caliber as well? Or just two handguns in general?

This is what we should be doing. Shooting tourism! I see an all inclusive package, round trip from overseas, full access to the armory at the Yeee Haaa All American Bunker Buster Range. Subject to the exclusion list per Homeland Security. We could make tons of money. The Danes... The Koreans... The English!

I'm not sure if anyone tunes Beretta 92FS/M9s. Seems like it would work, steel frame for lower recoil and a fixed barrel for accuracy. I'm guessing a trigger job, new springs, and different grips would make it suitable for competition. I'm no Beretta expert though, my M9A1 is stock.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. We always enjoy when a foreign member joins. You might be our first member from Denmark.

I own three competition models...M&P is my favorite of the three though none of them is SA. Trigger kits are available to improve accuracy. The XDm has a 19 round capacity which is a good feature for a home defense weapon imo

I see you have both a G34 and an XD Target. How do they compare? Speed vs precision, how do they stack up for you?

Don't feel bad, I've gotten used to it :-) I only feel a little sting inside when I watch "Sons of guns" and shows like that on Discovery Channel, where people shoot with all kinds of fun stuff in weird places. And a little more of a sting when I think of the semi-auto Garand rifle, that I'm so much in love with! If I want to buy one, it would have to have it's semi-auto capability disabled permantly by a Smith, which is like "killing" it to me.

In Denmark, you can own 12 pistols/revolvers at any given time. The legal calibers, which include .22, 9mm, .30, .32, .40S&W, .357 Magnum, .44 Special, .45 Colt, .45ACP, but not for example .44 Magnum and .50, are divided into groups, and you can own max two from each group.
