The .357 Magnum. When it is a revolver chambered for the cartridge, nothing else comes close regarding versatility.
Try shooting snake shot from a 10mm auto.
Then, go for the "mysterious" Ruger-only handloads of maximum velocity.

i am really fond of the 45 ACP. with three pistols in that caliber and more in the plans! very easy to reload and it just plain works great. but i am happy with all the ones i own, just the 45 is at the top of my list right now.

Gotta be the .308 one of the best rounds out there IMO.

Right now I've got a crush on Mossad use of the .22lr.

I've got a 9 para P11 on my hip and a .40 (And even a little .25 ) in the safe and want one day to get a 10mm.I've had .357's,9x18,9x17's,7.62x25 tok,.38 special,.45,.44 etc,etc and even a .38S&W Iver Johnson and loved 'em all.

IMHO- theres something to like about every handgun.

Except maybe that horrid Japanese WW2 Nambu and its pathetic cartridge......but hey,I might just offend someone with that statement so don't take it as anything more then the personal opinion of a jerk lol!

.40 S&W IMO is the best mainstream cartridge available. Near .45 power with near 9mm capacity. What else do ya need?

9mm and a 45! lol! just kidding with you i too like the 40, for pretty much the same reasons. IMO, the 40 is one you either love or hate.
