Little is better than father, son time.

Took mine to a mini golf and games place.

The only pictures I got because it's the one activity I wasn't participating in. He wanted to drive a go cart himself, and there's a weight limit on the junior carts...

He kicked my butt at laser tag too

As far as safe gun handling... See my avatar. He wanted to handle my 1911, so I cleared it myself first and stuck an empty mag in, then told him to show me how it's done. That was a couple weeks ago. He's wearing a home made Jedi robe (yeah, single dads have to be well rounded), and said he's going to be "Jedi master Gun Slinger" one day.

Then we made s'mores this evening after dinner around the campfire.

It was a good day.

Time spent with dads or sons. Interesting concept. My dad split soon after I showed up in 1956. In those days, deadbeat fathers were never arrested or pursued by courts or LOE.

I don't remember him, or would know if I were in the same room with him.

You father's out there, take care of your children. Hug them, and remember, be around while they are growing up.

Sons, remember fathers day is not just once a year. Call your dad, and do stuff with him. Listen to him tell stories. His stories of himself, and his dad, is your greatest heritage.

Most of my best memories of my father revolve around firarms -- helping him reload, going to the range, a few hunting trips. Firearms are probably the strongest connection that I have to my father.

Your time was well spent.

Agreed...my best memories of childhood involved the outdoors...rod and reel, or firearm...I only hope that my daughter takes a small interest as well
