Default Hollwood Gun?

I would bet the gun in the picture is either a toy or or some home modified experiment. The gun holders right hand does not have a natural hold on a pistol grip - maybe there is some kind of sawed off stock at best.
The fore grip looks like it has vent slots cut in it, but the barrel(s) look like an over and under shotgun. I also don't see any sign of an action or ejection port. Put it all together and I guess it's a toy, but the kind of toy that could get someone killed. I would shoot if I saw it pointed at me. Then I would figure out what "it" was.

That was my first impression... However, I have been wrong before (not often though )

With that long reciever and what apears to a over and under barrel witch I suspect is a magazine tube. I think it is a model 94 winchester that someone has cut down. Not practical for any kind of use and quite illegal unless you purchased the reciever before it was assembled in to the rifle it was intended.

Lever action of some sort. The straight shadow line at the top of the
receiver has me thinking Marlin more than Winchester. Maybe a 189?
Marlin originally chambered in one of the pistol calibers?

Whatever it started life as, it's now a "made for the movies" chop
job done by some prop man.

Default it's a lever action

Haven't you seen the old TV series "Wanted Dead or Alive" with Steve McQueen? Same basic idea done on a Marlin. It's the loading gate above the right index finger that is the clue. Long live Josh Randall.
